Where dancers come alive

blaze dance academy

Founded in 2011, Blaze Dance Academy offers quality dance training from pre-school to professional level. Dancers are given opportunities to progress through the BATD syllabus and perform in annual summer show, festivals and events.

To date, the pupils have attained a 100% pass rate in their BATD examinations and, most recently, 95% of the pupils achieved Highly Commended and Honours results – a fact we are incredibly proud of and aim to maintain.

Summer terms are spent working towards our annual summer performance and winter terms are focused on progressing through the BATD syllabus. To date, Blaze Dance Academy pupils have performed in Flash Mobs, pop up cinema events and our annual performances as well as achieving great exam results.

STYLES WE OFFER

STARLITE

Our fun pre-school classes are the perfect introduction to dance. In this class, boys & girls age 3-5, will enjoy learning the basics of Ballet, Tap & Street through creative games and engaging lessons.

Starlite dancers are guaranteed to steal the show in our theatre performances and love the excitement of being involved.

ballet

BDA Ballet classes follow a clear progression through the British Association of Teachers of Dance (BATD) syllabus from First Steps to professional training with dancers being entered for exams annually.

Our Ballet dancers also enjoy performing in our annual theatre shows which help develop confidence and friendships through fun experiences.

STAgE

New for 2020, we are introducing the BATD Stage syllabus. Stage combines Tap & Modern Dance, allowing dancers to develop skills in both styles during one class.

This is an exciting class where dancers can learn many aspects of stage-craft and musicality, as well as technique, flexibility and performance skills.

contemporary

BDA Contemporary classes combine release-based Contemporary technique with contact & partnering work, which encourages a close trusting bond between classmates whilst developing strength and skills.

Our Contemporary dancers have regular performance opportunities throughout the year and perform in our annual show.

commercial

Commercial Dance covers most urban styles and is the most commonly used style of dance for TV and film production. It is dynamic, high energy, high impact and demands lots of attitude.

BDA Commercial classes follow a clear progression from Starlite to Seniors, building on skills, technique and confidence each year.
