INTRODUCTION 

To help you get the best out of Dance HQ and to understand our responsibilities to you and your responsibilities to us, please read the following terms and conditions. The language used should make these terms and conditions as clear as possible. The following policies exist to safeguard the wellbeing of our pupils and to ensure that the good name of our studios continue to be associated with high quality teaching and enjoyment of dance. Dance HQ reserves the right to refuse entry to classes if these rules are not complied with. The studio will review and amend its policies on a regular basis and advises parents and pupils to read this document thoroughly to ensure a clear understanding is gained. Please contact a member of our team if you require further information. 

 

DANCE HQ

 
1. General
1.1 All dancers will be asked to complete an online registration upon enrolment, if any of this information changes you should inform us immediately.
1.2 Dancers are required to sign all waivers before participating in classes.
1.3 Any medical conditions must be disclosed upon registration, and the responsibility falls on you to update us when necessary thereafter. It is imperative that we are fully aware of any health implications at all times.
1.4 All dancers must follow Covid-19 guidelines on the premises.
1.5 Dance HQ reserves the right to make changes to the advertised programme.
1.6 All bookings are non-refundable. You may transfer to another class or rearrange a date, subject to 24 hours notice being given.
1.7 In the unlikely event of Dance HQ cancelling a class, credit will be given or a later date will be arranged.
1.8 Dancers must be dressed appropriately for the class they are taking. Dance wear/Active wear is recommended. Outdoor shoes are not permitted inside the dance studios.
1.9 Chewing gum is not permitted in the studio.
1.10 Lost property will be held in the studio for 1 month. Anything that hasn’t been collected within 1 month will be donated to charity.
 
2. Payments & Fees
2.1 In order for a place to be kept open for you in our classes, payment is required monthly in advance.
2.2 Fees are due on the 1st of each month by AutoPay. The only exception to this is upon enrolment when your first fee payment will be due immediately to confirm your space in class. 
2.3 We reserve the right to make changes to these amounts and/or collection date if necessary. In this case, you will be given notice via email prior to collection. 
2.4 Fees are reviewed annually. 
2.5 Payments are processed via Stripe. Stripe is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority as an Authorised Payment Institution. 
Payment will be taken from the account you specify on 1st of every month. The only month where this will differ is when registering, as your first payment will be due at the time of booking. Failure to make payments on time may result losing your place in chosen class(es).
2.6 Payments must be made using a registered card. It is the account holder’s responsibility to ensure card details are kept up to date.
2.7 Fees are non-refundable. 
2.8 Fees not received by the 8th of each month will be charged an additional late fee of 5%
 
3. Cancellations
3.1 Should you wish to cancel a class, please use the DROP CLASS function in your portal or contact us by email (admin@dancehq.co.uk). Classes must be cancelled before the 15th of the month or fees will be payable the following month.
3.2 Fees are payable within the notice period. 
3.3 Any classes that fall under 6 students in total will be subject to being cancelled. 
3.4 All unattended lessons are still payable. 
3.5 In the event of a session being cancelled due to adverse weather conditions or other events outwith our control, fees will be non refundable. 

 

BLAZE DANCE ACADEMY 

 
1. General

1.3 Any medical conditions must be disclosed upon registration, and the responsibility falls on you, the parent/guardian, to update us when necessary thereafter. It is imperative that we are fully aware of any health implications at all times, for your child’s safety and your own peace of mind. 
1.4 All dancers and their parents/guardians must follow Covid-19 guidelines on the premises.
1.5 Blaze Dance Academy communication is made via email and social media. Please ensure you follow our social media platforms and private Facebook group for recent updates, and continue to check spam/junk email folders. Other important information can be found in your parent portal. It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to keep up to date with all relevant information regarding their child. 
1.6 From time to time, it will be essential for physical contact to take place between the teacher and student/peers. We encourage safe practice at all times and support students in doing so. 
1.7 Lost property will be held in the studio for 1 month. Anything that hasn’t been collected within 1 month will be donated to charity.

2.7 Prices are based on 44 weeks worth of classes and pro-rated over 12 months. 
2.8 Fees are non-refundable.

2.10 New dancers are welcome to try classes with a 2 week trial. Following this you will be enrolled and monthly payments will become due. Please inform us by email (bda@dancehq.co.uk) if you do not wish to continue following your trial.
 
3. Cancellations

4. Clothing
4.1 Uniform must be worn at every session and all items must comply with Blaze Dance Academy’s uniform guide.
4.2 Uniforms are available to order from our website.
4.3 No jewellery or accessories to be worn to Blaze Dance Academy classes for obvious safety reasons. 
4.4 Hair should be tied back neatly. 
4.5 All items should have the dancer’s name clearly marked.
4.6 Any students taking part in our performances will be required to purchase/ hire costumes. 
 
5. Classes
5.1 Blaze Dance Academy aims to provide the very best training. We will implement fun and discipline to do this. Disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated and pupils may be verbally disciplined and, if necessary, removed from the academy.
5.2 Blaze Dance Academy reserves the right to make changes to the advertised programme.
5.3 Promotional pictures and footage will be taken throughout the year during classes; we will require a written request if you do NOT wish for your child to take part. We may also work in collaboration with outside media companies in line with our data protection policy. 
5.4 Mobile phones aren’t permitted inside the studio, unless being used for learning purposes. 
5.5 We advise that your child does not bring any valuables (i.e. phones, jewellery etc.) with them to the classes. Blaze Dance Academy does not accept any liability for lost or damaged belongings. Any belongings should have child’s name clearly marked. 
5.6 Blaze Dance Academy cannot be held responsible for any injuries incurred during dance class. Teachers will ensure students are learning and progressing in a safe manner.
5.7 Parents/guardians are requested to arrive promptly at the start & end of each lesson. Parents/guardians of younger children are welcome to wait in the reception area but it is not permitted for any parents/guardians to remain in the dance studio.
5.8 No child will be allowed to leave the building without a parent/guardian (unless arranged otherwise) Your child’s safety is paramount to us. 
5.9 Chewing gum is not permitted in the studio and students are encouraged to bring water and a small healthy snack if necessary.
 
6. BATD Examinations
6.1 All dancers in First Steps and above will be prepared for and, if ready, will be presented for annual BATD examinations in Ballet & Stage. Exams are an important part of learning to dance, they measure progress and can lead to professional, vocational qualifications.
6.2 Examinations are compulsory and all pupils will receive full preparation within classes.
6.3 Exam fees are set by the BATD and must be paid before the given deadline.
 
7. Performances
7.1 All dancers are required to take part in Blaze Dance Academy’s annual theatre performance.
7.2 All students will be required to purchase/ hire costumes. Costume fees are not included in monthly class fees and every effort is taken to ensure costs are kept to a minimum.
7.3 Costumes must be ordered and paid for by the dates specified.
7.4 Once ordered, costumes cannot be returned or refunded.
7.5 Our annual performance will be recorded professionally. Personal cameras and recording equipment are not permitted. 
 
8. Other Events
8.1 Blaze Dance Academy dancers are fortunate to be invited to take part in many other events such as the Merchant City Festival and holiday dance schools throughout the year.
8.2 Classes will be notified in good time if they are required to participate.
